Admissions

The Enrolment Process

Enrolment in a public school is a two-step process. Parents first lodge an Application for Enrolment form with the school, along with proof of residence and other documentation. If the school is in a position to offer your child a placement, you will be invited to proceed with the second stage of enrolment. The enrolment is not formalised until this documentation has been processed.

Parents seeking to enrol their child at Carine Senior High School for Year 7 in 2026 need to complete an Application for Enrolment form and lodge it with supporting documentation by Friday 25 July 2025. The school will advise parents of the outcome of their enrolment application from mid-August 2025.

The Year 7 2026 Parent night will be held on Tuesday 18 November 2025.

Students Attending a Local Primary School

The local intake area contains all or part of the local-intake areas of Carine, Davallia, Deanmore, Lake Gwelup, Karrinyup, Marmion, Newborough, North Beach, Poynter and Yuluma Primary Schools. However, it is important to note that enrolment at one of our local primary schools does not guarantee enrolment at Carine Senior High School.

Application and Eligibility

Enrolment at the school is based on the residential address of the student at the time the enrolment commences. To help us determine eligibility under our local intake area, we ask families to provide at least two documents from the list below that show the enrolling parent or guardian’s name and current address.

In some cases, we may ask for additional supporting documents to help confirm residential details. We may also request that documents are dated close to the intended start of enrolment to reflect your current living arrangements.

Evidence of the usual place of residence includes:

  • A current rates notice from the local council showing proof of ownership; or
  • A current lease agreement of at least three months;
  • Driver’s Licence;
  • Power – connection or account;
  • Gas – connection or account;
  • Telephone accounts;
  • Contents Insurance; or
  • Any other official documents that may support the application as proof of residence.

Additional documents that are required include:

  • Birth Certificate or birth extract;
  • Passports of the parents and the student if born overseas;
  • Visa (if applicable);
  • Current Immunisation Certificate (Medicare);
  • Copies of Family Court or other court orders (if any);
  • Two most recent school reports; and
  • NAPLAN results.

It is also a requirement that all the information provided is accurate.

Age

A birth certificate or extract of birth certificate or passport must be provided with the application for enrolment as proof of age. Only in very exceptional circumstances, and only with the permission of the Principal, will a student be placed in a group that does not correspond to his or her age group.

Cancellation of Enrolment

Parents are reminded that under the Education Act 1999, the Principal may cancel the enrolment if it was obtained by giving false or misleading information; or notice of changes have not been provided about the names and usual place of residence of the child, parents, or about any provisions in force at law for the long term and day to day care, welfare and development of a child (ss 16,17,20 School Education Act 1999).

Siblings

Siblings are not assured enrolment at the school where the family is residing outside the school boundary at the time of the sibling’s enrolment.

Overseas Students

Students who were born overseas must be Australian citizens or hold an appropriate visa before enrolling at the school. For overseas students who are in Australia using an entry visa it is necessary that we sight the passport and visa of the parent – primary visa holder – and student at this time. These should be submitted at the time of the application.
