SCHOOL RULES
These rules support the rights and responsibilities of all members of our school community. They are for the purpose of defining boundaries of student behaviour and reflect the endorsed position of the school’s community.
Designated student access areas
¨ Students are only permitted in designated areas of the school.
Some areas are out of bounds to students (see school map).
¨ Students are only allowed in classrooms when a staff member is present or written permission is obtained.
Leaving the school grounds
¨ Students are to remain on the school grounds during school hours unless given written permission by the front office.
Transportation
¨ Bicycles must be parked in the bike racks, padlocked and must remain there during school hours. Entry and exit is via designated bicycle paths only. Students must wear a helmet and obey the road rules.
¨ Student cars must be parked in the student car park. Cars are to be locked and must remain in the car park during school hours. Cars must be registered with the Year 12 coordinator.
Class Attendance (also see notes under ATTENDANCE)
¨ Students are expected to arrive at all classes punctually and with all necessary materials.
¨ Students out of class during lesson time must carry an appropriate “Out of Class” TRANSIT CARD signed by a teacher.
Prohibited Substances
¨ Carine SHS is a drug/smoke free zone. Prohibited substances are not permitted on school grounds. This includes alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs and other substances which may be used for illicit purposes
Student Compliance
¨ Students must follow lawful instruction from school staff promptly and without argument, at all times.
