Deborah graduated from the West Australian Conservatorium of Music in 1997 and performed as a soloist with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra in that year. Since then, she has toured around Australia and the United Kingdom with the Australian Youth Orchestra, of which she was both Principal Second violin (1998) and Concertmaster (September 1998-2000). In those years, Deborah also performed in various contemporary music festivals around Australia for the Australian National Academy of Music. In 1999, Deborah moved to Melbourne to take up a year- long performing scholarship at the Australian National Academy of Music. Since her completion of the course, Deborah divided her time between freelancing around Australia and studying/performing at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada. In Australia, Deborah held the position of Principal Second Violin of the Australian Pops Orchestra and also performed widely on the contemporary scene, working with Thomas Ades (UK) ELISION (AUS) and Ensemble Modern (Germany) for various Australia-wide festivals. She recently recorded a new chamber opera work by David Hobson in conjunction with ABC Classics/ Oz Opera and performed for the Ray Charles Australian Tour 2002. 2002 also saw Deborah as the on-stage solo violinist for the dance-theatre work Inland (ch.Douglas Wright, comp. Juliet Palmer) commissioned and toured for the New Zealand Festival. She moved to London in April 2002, to take up the invitation of private lessons with Mr. David Takeno and continues her work as a freelance violinist  in the UK.
