Mathematics Academic Extension
The Mathematics academic extension program focuses on problem solving and competitions. Students who enjoy Mathematics enjoy using their skills to solve problems. Students practice these skills in preparation for entering the Australian Maths Challenge. Teams of students are also entered in the national Tournament of the Minds, Australian Mathematics Junior Olympiad and Australian Informatics Competition, a computer programming competition.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Maths Games Camp, 'Have Sum Fun', and 'Math -O -Quest' competitions. If students prefer not to participate in competitions they have the opportunity to carry out research on mathematical topics of interest.
