The Design and Technology Department strives to produce excellence in all areas of student achievement. These courses have a highly practical focus with a student centred approach to problem solving tasks.
Students are encouraged to use visual thinking strategies to develop critical and creative thinking, plus use their imagination to generate practical solutions to realistic design problems.
Students will have the opportunity to develop a range of hand skills and machine skills in many contexts and work in a safety conscious and supportive environment, where they will be able to work both independently and as part of a team assisting and respecting each other.
The courses are all designed to give students access to modern equipment and technology, including state of the art processes in Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) applications in wood, metal and 3D printing.
