Student Representative Council

A group of 25 students are elected to the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Carine Senior High School in 2018. This includes at least one male and female representative in each year group from Year 7 to Year 11 and twelve Year 12 student prefects. The students represent their year group and the wider school community and are involved in a number of important activities that involve the following aspects:

  • Positive promotion of Carine Senior High School
  • Representation at meetings
  • Organisation and assistance at school events
  • Commitment to community service activities

Students submit nominations to form part of the Student Representative Council and Year 12 Head Boy and Head Girl at the beginning of Term 3 each year. Selection for the SRC includes a written nomination, vote and interview process. Nominating for Head Boy and Head Girl includes a speech to peers and school leaders at the annual Prefect’s Dinner. Successful students are announced at the annual Mega Life Week Whole School Assembly in Week 8 of term. Year 7 representatives are elected during Term 1 each year.
